On Tuesday night, the Wiesbaden Vikings traveled to Eppelheim to take on the Export Rangers in Game 2 of the best of three series.  The Vikings had won the first game in a dramatic shoot-out after tying the game with 7 seconds left in regulation while on a 3-on-5 penalty kill.  This time, however, the Vikings would come with a full line-up, looking to advance to the semi-finals against Kristall.
The Vikings started the game motivated and, following a one-timer from the point by Steve Zimmerman and goals from John Brausch and Alex Althenn, led 3:0 after only 3:05.  By the end of the 1st period, the score was 4:0 for the Vikings and things did not look good for the Rangers.  The 2nd period was a battle, with the Rangers finding the net with a goal by Dominick Mueller off of a nice assist by Michael Thurner.  However, the Vikings finished the period strong and led 7:2 at the end of the 2nd.  The Rangers, to their credit, fought hard at the beginning of the 3rd period and scored two goals quickly to cut the margin to 7:4.  But that was all the scoring for the night thanks to the great goaltending on both teams.  The Vikings closed out the game and skated away with a 7:4 victory to move on to the semi-finals against Kristall.
